My Battle with cancerViews: 809

This is my 1st blog on this site. So I will give a short run down with my battle against cancer. 4 years ago in the month of June I received the dreaded call from the My Doctor he informed me that I had cancer of the Uterus and cervix. He assured me it was in a very early stage and most likely curable. I met up with a new Doctor that would take care of me. Thus began my battle. I had a complete hysterectomy and went throw weeks of chemo and radiation. I must say the radiation was very hard on me the chemo was more tolerable. I finished with this treatment and kept all my appointments. I had my yearly mammogram that flowing June and yes guess what happen. Thats right Breast Cancer.. so here I go again almost a year to the date. It also was in early stages. I had a lump removed and went through chemo and did radiation. This time the chemo was the one that was hard. But I endured. Kept all my appointments took the meds. My dr. put me on Armidex (not sure of the spelling). The site effects were bad and my dr. took me off it after being on it a year. Well you can guess what happen next. Yep My breast cancer came back that Oct. again I had the lump removed this time I am being treated with Medication Femara. Needless to say the site effects are something else and I was determined to stay on the drug and I did and still taking it. Well guess what I had my 6 month Pet Scan 3 weeks ago and yes they found 3 areas one of which is in my right lung so I had a biopsy this past Thurs and am waiting the results. So this is my shorten story to date.

Cheryl, my heart goes out to you, especially reading that the cancer keeps popping up in different areas each year. I don’t know the process you’re going through when you see your doctor, whether you get checked every 3 weeks, or 3 months. To be honest, and I sincerely hope I don’t offend you with my question, I’m wondering how thoroughly they’re checking you? Have you gotten any second opinions? Could they have missed something during the initial exam for the pelvic/cervix cancer?

Either way, you’re in my prayers now and I’ll be thinking of you and believing for your recovery. There are battles worth fighting and wars worth winning. This is a definite war that is worth winning.

Hugs…Grace

Cheryl, keep fighting. You have already been through so much but because you have fought through the other rounds you must have a reason to keep fighting.

My prayers are with you.

I’m so glad to hear you’ve got a great medical team helping you out. That makes things so much easier and you don’t have to be concerned with whether or not you’re getting the best care. Fighting cancer is hard enough without having to deal with those issues.

You’re fervently in my prayers. May God bless and keep you. May He shine His face upon you and give you peace.

Hugs…Grace

Dear Cheryl, thanks for the words of wisdom regarding the hair loss. I know that it will grow back. In the overall scheme of things, it should be a small price to pay for more time with my husband.

A great big hug and and a whole lot of prayers.

Love Sherri
